How old (or young) can a boy be to join Cub Scouting?

• Cub Scouting is for boys & girls in the kindergarten through fifth grades, or 6 to 10 years of age. Boys & Girls who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Scouts BSA ages 11 - 18 (see our brother troop page http://troop743.scoutlander.com & our sister troop - coming in 2019)  or Venturing program ages 14 - 21.

• Come to our meetings on Thursday 6:30pm located @ Queens Creek United Methodist Church, 324 Hubert Boulevard, Hubert, North Carolina 28539-0398

• Fill out the YOUTH APPLICATION and submit with your $ 33.00 annual application fee plus $ 1.00 insurance. (Application fee will prorated for partial year of scouting.)

• Application =$33/year plus $1.00 insurance
• Initial uniform + patches = $45 to $50 if bought new
  
• Handbook = $12.00 (about)
  
• Den dues = $60/year or $5/month
  
• Optional Boys Life Magazine = $12/year

• We have one Pack Meeting, typically once a month and are usually held at Queens Creek United Methodist Church
  

These are paid by the Scout either all at once in the Fall or a little bit each month. The dues help pay (but do not pay for all) for the Advancement awards, pins, belt loops and patches they earn every month.

• Lions = age 6, entering or in Kindergarten 
• Tigers = entering or in 1st Grade
• Wolves = entering or in 2nd Grade
• Bears = entering or in 3rd Grade
• Webelos = entering or in 4th or 5th Grade

FOR PARENT/GUARDIAN(s) WHO WANT TO VOLUNTEER:

All of our Parents are encouraged to help out the Pack in someway. We look for Den Leaders or Asst. Den Leaders every year as boys move up and out of Cubs and into Boy Scouts, parents to help with camping, and volunteers to help with Pack events or field trips. Most of the training required to be a Leader/Asst. Leader is done online at your convenience. The Leader Specific training for your den level takes about 1 hour online. Outdoor Training to run camp-outs is a full day. We also have other Pack positions available in various activities. Often, our Leaders are recognized with their own awards and achievements during the year! You decide how much fun and time you would like to put into Scouting!

Please note: LIONS & TIGERS CUBS MUST HAVE A PARENT/GUARDIAN  WITH THEM AT ALL MEETINGS AND OUTINGS BECAUSE OF THEIR AGE.

Dues for Adults are $34/year and this covers your Scout Insurance as well as your application.
